Hiking between trails, Alpine peaks, and winter sports: starting from Grono you can explore the paths of the Calanca Valley and the Mesolcina Valley, where you can savour the of the still wild and unspoilt environment. Particularly challenging is the Moesa for paddling enthusiasts. A 20-minute drive away, lovers of skiing and snowboarders can reach the slopes of San Bernardino, 40 minutes by car the slopes of Spluga and in 60 minutes by car the famous slopes of Andermatt.

Culture and Traditions

Art and history: 10 minutes by car, Mesocco Castle shows a fortress built in the Mesolcina Valley on a steep rock spur carved out by the Moesa River. The three Castles of Bellinzona, under Unesco protection, offer guided tours to discover three treasures of the Middle Ages. They are a plunge into history and offer splendid views of the city and the surrounding mountains.
